Small Groups are smaller congregations within the larger church where ministry is shared through relationships by:
- S E R V I N G - ______________________________________________ | Spiritual Formation As members of the Small Group, we desire to evaluate our journey to spiritual maturity. We seek to identify our areas of struggles and set personal goals for our growth in Christ in the year to come. Regularly we will share our progress and encourage one another monthly in our journey to bring each other to spiritual maturity In Christ. Be perfect, therefore as your heavenly Father is perfect
Evangelism Each Small Group desires to love our neighbor and will pray regularly for at least three households within their community who need to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will pray for the personal requests of these neighbors. We will hold one another accountable and partner with one another to pray for, touch, and share the good news with our unbelieving community. We desire to see at least one household come to faith in Christ each year. Love your neighbor
Reproduction Each Small Group is open to welcoming new members and will have at least one apprentice (leader in training) at all levels of leadership. We will seek to reproduce another group as needed. Teach others
Volunteerism As members of the Small Group we will commit ourselves to support the greater body of Christ at APUMC through involvement in ministries and service opportunities such as youth, children, worship, ushers, and greeters. We will celebrate what God is doing in the greater body of Christ through weekly worship, Sunday School, and neighborhood gatherings. All parts of the body
Intentional Missions As an expression of our desire to share Christ with the world, the Small Group will annually support mission projects supported by APUMC through increased awareness, commitment to prayer, financial contributions, and hands-on involvement. Go into all the world Nurturing Connection The foundation of the Small Group will be our commitment to care for one another. This will be manifested in practical help for those in difficult and crisis situations - hospital or home visits, meal preparation, prayer, referral to church and community resources, and the like. Visit the sick, those in jail, feed the hungry
Gift Based Ministry In response to the social needs of our community, each Small Group will serve using our gifts and abilities in neighborhood compassion projects throughout the year. All parts of the body ...so that everyone can make a connection and a contribution
