Read: 2 Chronicles 18-20

Focus Verse: “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12b).

Devotion: Jehoshaphat’s prayer ends admitting they are completely lost knowing what to do. They are in what seems an impossible and hopeless situation. While they don’t know what to do, they keep their eyes fixed on God. They come to find out that the battle belongs to the LORD not them (20:15b). So in the height of conflict, in the midst of chaos, they begin to sing and praise the LORD (20:22). They aren’t trying to struggle and fight their own battles, instead they trust God completely knowing the battle is God’s. When we are faced with trouble and battles in our lives, do we have the faith to trust the battle belongs to God and do no more than Praise Him?

Pray: LORD I relinquish control, for the battle belongs to You. Amen.

Additional Scripture: “Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.” (Jeremiah 17:7)
