Read: 2 Kings 6-8

Focus Verse:“Then they said to each other, ‘What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.” (2 Kings 7:9).

Devotion: The Aramean army had abandoned their siege of the city and four men with leprosy found it. Now skin disease for Israel meant you had to live outside the city gates till you healed, if you healed. So these are kinda homeless beggars who have found treasure and are hiding it so they can hoard it to themselves. But hear this, they realize the good news must not be kept to themselves. In our sin we are like homeless beggars, but Christ is the treasure we find in the darkness. The same holds true for us—this good news of new life in Christ—we must share the good news, it is not right to keep it to ourselves. We have to start NOW, this can’t wait till tomorrow! Share the good news of your new life in Christ with someone TODAY!

Pray: LORD help me find at least one person every day that I can share the good news of my new life in You with them. Amen.

Additional Scripture: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor. 2:9) We love God by sharing what God has prepared with others.
