Read: 2 Chronicles 13-17
Focus Verse: “He went out to meet Asa and said to him, ‘Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.” (2 Chronicles 15:2).
Devotion: I feel this is a similar statement to Paul in the openings of Romans. If and when are key here. If you seek God, there’s a choice here. So, when you’ve chosen to seek God he will be found. The more we seek, the more we work on the relationship, the more we find. However no matter how close we get we still have to continue to choose God daily. Even Asa who was with God all his life choose to rely on the king of Aram and he didn’t trust God at the end of his life (16:7). If you forsake him, that’s a choice you make. We must work hard to choose God every day of our lives, if we do, we’ll find God every time.
Pray: LORD let me seek you every day. Help me so I don’t forsake You and lose You. Amen.
Additional Scripture: “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (Phil 4:13)
