Read: 2 Chronicles 6-8
Focus Verse: “…then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right ways to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance.” (2 Chronicles 6:27).
Devotion: Teach me your ways Lord. Solomon’s prayer asks God—when Israel realizes their sin and turns back—to forgive and instruct. When we realize sin has a hold on our life, we shouldn’t pray only for forgiveness, but pray for God to teach us his ways so we don’t have to ask for forgiveness again. God agrees to forgive and instruct. So, when we pray to God for forgiveness we should also pray, and trust, for instruction. Let God show you his ways and instruct you how to stay in them.
Pray: LORD teach me Your ways, instruct me in the ways to go. Amen.
Additional Scripture: “God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)
