Read: Deuteronomy 28-29

Focus Verse: “There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.” (Deuteronomy 28:65b-66).

Devotion: This is the state Israel will be in if they ignore or break relationship with God. This is in contrast to the abundance of blessing Israel will have when they follow God’s laws. Isn’t that how it is for us sometimes? Life isn’t going to be perfect, but the hope is that with God we can leave behind our anxiety, and suspense, because we are sure of our life in Christ. Are you sure of your life in Christ? It’s ok if not yet, but it does take time and work. Commit to your relationship with Christ and see what happens.

Pray: LORD change me, take away my anxiety, and help me be confident in my life in Christ. Amen!

Additional Scripture: “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” (Rom. 12:2)
