Read: Judges 10-12

Focus Verse: “Likewise, whatever the LORD our God has given us, we will possess.” (Judges 11:24b).

Devotion: A war was about to break out. Jephthah tried to prevent fighting and negotiate, but the other nation wouldn’t listen. His reasoning really got to me though. They are disputing a plot of land and it’s reasoned that it’s God who granted the land in the first place, so who else could possibly lay claim to what God does? We can’t make claim, or take credit, for what the LORD does or gives. When the LORD opens a door and gives us opportunities, it’s from God, no one can take it away or take credit for it.

Pray: LORD thank you for all that you have given to me and blessed me with. You always look after me and guide my path. Thank you. Amen.

Additional Scripture: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor. 2:9)
