Read: Numbers 31-32

Focus Verse: “Why do you discourage the Israelites from crossing over into the land the LORD has given them?” (32:7).

Devotion: Does fear have a place in your life? The Israelites wandered for 40 years because when they saw what God promised them they were afraid to take it. “If you turn away from following him, he will again leave all this people in the wilderness…” (32:15) So what happens when we ignore God’s desire for us? When we allow fear to get in our way from taking what God wants for us, we are left in the wilderness. When our fear over powers our desire for God’s goodness in our life, we become stranded where we are. So what are you afraid of? What’s keeping you from God today?

Pray: LORD I pray I won’t let my fear cripple me into being stranded away from the goodness you want for me. Amen!

Additional Scripture: “The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid?” (Ps. 27:1)
