Read: Numbers 18-20
Focus Verse: “The LORD said to Aaron, ‘You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.” (Numbers 18:20).
Devotion: God states that the peoples offering to God is to be used/allotted to the priests. So these goods/offerings equate to how we use money now I suppose. What’s given is given to the LORD, but its use is trusted to those in charge of the sanctuary. Every other Israelite has their stuff, their income, but Aaron, the lead of the priests, is not to have any land or inheritance because God is his share. In ministry we won’t get rich—we may be responsible for putting others money to use while we have little—but for us who know God and love God and share God with others, our reward is God. We don’t follow after God to prosper, we follow so we can be in his presence. So we can have a relationship with God. That is our reward.
