Read: Judges 6-7

Focus Verse: “Am I not sending you?’ ‘Pardon me my lord,’ Gideon replied, ‘but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.’ The LORD answered, ‘I will be with you,…’” (Judges 6:14b-16a).

Devotion: The story of Gideon is a story of insecure self-doubt. He says as much repeatedly, that he is the least in all Israel, how can he defeat an army referred to as a swarm of locusts? Gideon has a monumental task before himself, and he has ZERO confidence in his own ability to succeed. Good thing he wasn’t alone. The LORD sent him! It was scary, it was a huge challenge, a HUGE risk, and one way too big for Gideon alone. Yet, he was never alone. If God is sending, if/when God calls, God will make sure you are more than enough! When God is leading the way and we trust, it doesn’t matter how small we think we are.

Pray: LORD go before me, let what You call me to be successful because You go before me and call me. Amen.

Additional Scripture: “This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Ps. 118:24)
