Read: Judges 19-21

Focus Verse: “Then all the Israelites, the whole army, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the LORD. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the LORD.” (Judges 20:26).

Devotion: So some pretty insane stuff leads Israel to war against one of its own tribes. They loose the battle twice and then come before the LORD, defeated and weeping. A terrible, wicked action occurred, and Israel is attempting to avenge it and make it right. Yet, they failed at first. They are defeated twice and are losing hope. The victory only comes after they fast and surrender the outcome to the LORD. They will see a victory, they will see this turned for good, but the battle belongs to the LORD.

Pray: LORD my victory belongs to You. God You are who fights my battles and avenges when everyone does as they see fit, apart from You as King. Amen.

Additional Scripture: “My health may fail, my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.” (Ps. 73:26)
